2008 Photographic Safari - Chitake Springs - in September 2008 Guy went to Chitake Springs for 2 nights with Natureways Safaris.  The objective of this trip was to gather new material for his paintings.  Guy only paints from his own photographs of things that he has actually seen and experienced, giving each of his paintings their own story and making Guy their story teller.  He was fortunate enough to capture a killing a lioness a female Eland bringing her cubs down to the carcass, and later trying to protect her kill from the ever scavenging vultures (one of which she managed to pull down from the air and obliterate in a matter of seconds!)

Guy also experienced a herd of about 400 buffalo, from a nerve wracking vantage point (up a small tree hanging over the drying river bed and herd).  Much of this material will be used for upcoming commissions and exhibitions.

2008 Exhibition in Jersey, Channel Islands - In August 2008 Guy successfully exhibited a collection of his latest paintings in a show held in Jersey.  He has another exhibition scheduled for August 2009.

2008 Exhibition Rosebank, Johannesburg - Held at the David Brown Gallery of Fine Art in May.

2007 Churchill School Reunion and Auction -  In late September 2007 Guy and his wife attended the Churchill School 2007 Reunion at Dainfern Golf Club and Estate in Johannesburg, South Africa.  Guy was approached by the organiser of this event and good friend, Earl Don to auction a nostalgic painting of Churchill School.  The beneficiary was to be an ex-Churchill pupil who was injured in the War.

2007 Focus on Mana Pools (August) - Teaming up with Sir Ranulph Fiennes, High Life Magazine and Natureways Safaris, Guy was involved in a 3 day safari in Mana Pools accompanied by highly experienced Guide, James Varden.  Sir Ranulph Fiennes and his family, Guy and Richard Grant (Journalist and author of American Nomads) were flown in and out of Mana Pools courtesy of CATS (Central Air Transport Services).  This portion of the 2 week long expedition with Sir Ranulph was done to draw attention to Mana Pools National Park, and assist the Friends of Mana, a Trust Fund set up to help finance all aspects of running Mana Pools and its camps.

2007 Lion Breeding and Release Program - In August 2007 Guy and Sir Ranulph Fiennes joined Andrew Connolly, David Youldon and his Team from Antelope Park (Gweru, Zimbabwe), in conjunction with ALERT (African Lion & Environmental Research Trust) to bring attention to the revolutionary Lion Breeding Program at Antelope Park.  This program, and the concept of breeding lions for ultimate release is revolutionary in its attempt to increase the wild lion population in Southern Africa, which is diminishing at an alarming rate.  Antelope Park/ALERT released their first batch of lions into a 1 million acre conservancy in Livingstone, Zambia in late August 2007.  This was covered by the Sunday Telegraph (UK), ITV and the British Airways In flight Magazine Highlife. For more information see www.africanencounter.org.

2007 Focus on Tashinga Black Rhino - During this same period (August 2007) Guy and Sir Ranulph Fiennes visited the Matusodona National Park on their return from Mana Pools to generate some much needed attention to the plight of the Tashinga Black Rhino, the last free roaming Black Rhino's in Africa.  As a resident of Kariba and an artist living in close proximity to these Rhino, this project was close to Guy's heart and creating awareness of them and their struggle for survival will be a life long dedication for Guy.

2007 Post Expedition Charity Exhibition and Fund Raising Dinner with Sir Ranulph Fiennes - Guy, in conjunction with African Encounter, ALERT and Meikles Hotel hosted a Charity Exhibition and Auction  in Harare on 6 September 2007, to raise money for the projects mentioned above.  The Evening was hugely successful, with a turnout of over 200 people, and a waitlist of a further 60 potential attendees.  The African Lions, Friends of Mana and Rhino Camp benefited greatly from the generosity of all those in attendance, without the support of whom these programs to ensure the longevity of our Wildlife and National Parks would be short lived and fruitless.

2006 David Livingstone's 150 Year Anniversary of Victoria Falls - To commemorate the 150th year after the discovery of the Victoria Falls by David Livingstone, Guy was invited as the Expedition Artist on a trip that was to follow the last 7 days of Livingstone's diary as accurately as possible before his arrival on Livingstone Island on 16 November 1855.  The Expedition Party included world renowned British Explorer Sir Ranulph Fiennes, who officially opened the commemorative plaque on the edge of the Victoria Falls during a ceremony which took place on 16 November 2005, whilst Guy played his bagpipes in a tribute to the great Scottish Explorer.  The expedition was covered exclusively by the UK Sunday Telegraph.  Guy held an exhibition of paintings in Livingstone, Zambia after the expedition, depicting the Victoria Falls and life on the Zambezi River as a further tribute to Thomas Baines, who was David Livingstone's official artist.  For more information on the expedition visit www.vicfallsexpedition.com
